What wonderful, colourful bees! Thanks for the detailed description of their life cycle. We don't get that species over here in Scotland, though we do have around 18 species of mason bees. I've been watching quite a lot of solitary bees recently, including nomad cuckoo bees that lay their eggs in the nests of other solitary bees.
What a gift of learning this morning. Thank you for the share of your observations and the details of a pollinator I might identify on our property. My interest is peeked!
Our community garden(in it's second year) added two Mason bee "houses" earlier this spring. Already many of the tubes are sealed and it is a delight to see the bees flying in and out, pollinating our vegetables, fruit trees and herb garden. Thank you for this fascinating read on the particulars of their lives. A miracle indeed. Bless the bees and all of the pollinators.
I'd never heard of those bees. How wonderful to watch the miracles of nature. Keep on keeping on. Your flowers are beautiful. Thatr's a treat also.
Thank you so much for all the info and cool photos - you've inspired me!
I love that you're inspired! Everyone should have mason bees in their life :-)
This is so lovely. Thank you for teaching me about the bees. You have me thinking about adding a box in our yard.
That's wonderful! They will bring you much delight :-)

I had no idea there were nest parasitizing bees - that's incredible. I'm off to read about them now, thank you!
Wonderful!

How fabulous! I'm so glad you have mason bees in your life. Blessings to all of our pollinators indeed.
My mom has lots of bee hotels in her garden for the mason bees. They’re always full, each and every year. I love them.
That's wonderful! I think I'll get/make some more for next year :-)
